Frequently Asked Questions About Scales
Answers to the most frequently asked questions on calibration, periodic inspection, faults, installation, software and warranty.
Which brands of weighbridges do you service?
We work brand-independent. For truck, lorry and platform weighbridges, we provide calibration, maintenance and fault service regardless of the indicator or load cell brand.
Which regions do you serve?
From our Gebze-based teams, we provide same-day service in Kocaeli, Istanbul, Sakarya, Yalova and Bursa. Across Turkey, we provide on-site service through a planned field schedule. Many software and calibration issues can be resolved remotely.
Is your fault line open 24/7?
Yes. We receive fault reports 24/7. For reports received at night or on weekends, we first carry out a remote preliminary diagnosis. If a site visit is needed, we plan a team as soon as possible.
What is the difference between calibration and periodic inspection?
Periodic inspection is the legal check of commercial weighbridges carried out by authorized institutions at set intervals. Calibration, on the other hand, measures the accuracy of the weighbridge using test weights and adjusts it if necessary. Regular calibration is also the safest way to pass inspections without issues.
How often should a weighbridge be calibrated?
For heavily used weighbridges, we recommend a check every 6 months; for others, once a year. Calibration should be carried out without delay after a load cell or indicator replacement, impact, lightning strike or transport.
Can the weighbridge be used during calibration?
During work, the platform is used for test loads. For this reason, we schedule calibration during the hours when your shipments are at their lowest. For truck weighbridges, the work is usually completed within a few hours.
Do you provide a report after calibration?
Yes. We deliver a written report including measurement values, detected deviations and the adjustments made. Reports are stored in our system together with your weighbridge's service history.
Will you be on site on inspection day?
If you wish, yes. We carry out a preliminary check before the inspection, and on inspection day our technician is on site to intervene immediately in cases requiring adjustment.
My weighbridge does not return to zero when empty. What should I do?
First, check the platform surface and edge gaps; mud, stones, snow or ice can cause friction. If the problem continues after cleaning, moisture may be present in the load cell, cable or junction box; we recommend opening a fault report.
Why does the same vehicle give different results in different weighings?
This usually indicates that the corner balance has been disturbed, a load cell is deviating, or the platform is rubbing against something. We can quickly identify the source through corner tests and load cell measurements.
My weighbridge stopped weighing after a lightning strike. Can it be repaired?
In most cases, yes. Load cells, the junction box and the indicator are measured individually, and damaged parts are replaced. To prevent recurrence, we also recommend reviewing grounding and surge protection.
Do you keep spare parts in stock?
We keep critical parts such as load cells, junction boxes, indicators, cables and protection components in stock and in our service vehicles. This allows us to resolve most faults on the first visit.
Which is better: surface-mounted or pit-type weighbridge?
It depends on the site. A surface-mounted weighbridge requires no excavation and is quick to install, but it needs a ramp area. A pit-type weighbridge does not require a ramp and is advantageous in narrow areas, but drainage must be well planned. After the site survey, we determine together which one suits you.
How should I choose the weighbridge capacity?
It should be selected based on the heaviest loaded vehicle to be weighed, leaving a safe margin. In facilities with trucks, 60 and 80 tonne capacities are common. The platform length should also be long enough to accommodate the entire vehicle at the same time.
Can you move my existing weighbridge to another location?
Yes. We dismantle the weighbridge and transport it to the new site, check the suitability of the foundation, and after installation and calibration, put it back into operation.
Can the weighbridge program be installed on our existing weighbridge?
Yes. We work with common indicator models; we install the program on your existing weighbridge, test the connection, and train your staff.
Can I issue an e-Waybill directly from a weighing record?
Yes. The weighbridge program creates an e-Waybill from the weighing record and sends it to your integrator; weight, plate, and product information are not re-entered.
Can plate recognition and a barrier system be added later?
Yes. Cameras, barriers, traffic lights, and position sensors can be added to your existing weighbridge. We plan the vehicle flow together during the site survey.
Can I know the service fee in advance?
Yes. After we identify the fault through measurement, we inform you of the work to be done and its cost before starting. We do not proceed without your approval.
Are your services guaranteed?
Yes. Our workmanship and the spare parts we install are guaranteed for the period stated on the service form. If the same fault recurs during the warranty period, we repair it free of charge.
What are the advantages of a maintenance contract?
Planned maintenance prevents faults before they occur, your fault reports receive priority response, your inspection dates are tracked, and you receive a written maintenance report at every visit.
