Load cells are the heart of the scale; they convert the weight placed on the platform into an electrical signal. They can be damaged by impact, overloading, humidity, corrosion or lightning strikes, and can cause the entire scale to weigh incorrectly.
How do we identify a faulty load cell?
- Signal, bridge resistance and insulation measurement of each load cell separately
- Identifying the point that shows deviation in the corner test
- Isolating problems caused by cables and junction boxes
Replacement process
The platform is lifted with suitable equipment, the faulty load cell is replaced with a new one of compatible capacity and type, and the seating parts are checked. Then corner adjustment and calibration are performed to make the scale ready for use.
Tip: When one load cell fails, we also measure the others. Load cells installed in the same period and exposed to similar conditions may show new failures soon; we share the measurement results with you to help you make a decision.
